Diet Coke
You have likely seen many people these days with a Diet Coke in their hand. Some people like the taste of it while others, needing the caffeine, drink it because it is low calorie. In regards to Diet Coke ingredients, you can expect some of the same ingredients as the regular version. There is carbonated water and a caramel color added. There is also phosphoric acid, potassium benzoate which preserves the taste, citric acid, caffeine and other natural flavors. However, there is one additional ingredient which has sparked the “Is Diet Coke bad for you?” debate and that ingredient is aspartame. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that takes the place of sugar. Many scientists are blaming some serious illnesses on the large consumption of aspartame. In fact, some people who claim a Diet Coke addiction do have unusual symptoms that cannot be explained by any other health issue. Even tumors, lymphoma and other serious medical conditions are being blamed on Diet Coke. However, there are not been sufficient evidence to officially conclude the findings. And speaking of health, Diet Coke and diabetes sufferers should not mix either. It seems that many diabetics find that their insulin production decreases over time the more they drink the soda. Therefore, doctors suggest diabetics either drink the caffeine free Diet Coke in moderation or drink Diet Coke with sucralose instead. Diet Coke is used in a variety of other ways besides drinking. For instance, you can make a diet coke cake. You can also have an alcoholic diet drink by using rum and Diet Coke. The calories in the rum and Diet Coke are about half of what the regular version has. Oh and did you know that the Diet Coke syrup differs slightly from country to country? In addition, you can conduct Diet Coke experiments like the famous Mentos soda geyser featured in a few television shows and on the internet. Regardless of the different uses and tastes around the world, the Diet Coke logo is widely recognized. The Diet Coke bottles and Diet Coke cans are also very similar from country to country. Of course, the languages are different! When you see a Diet Coke picture or Diet Coke commercial, because the brand is so popular, you will always recognize it.
