When it comes to other diet types, you have your choice of fads, quack developed diets and some that may or may not have some dietary value. When it comes to other diet types, you basically have to rely on your common sense to decipher what sounds nutritionally sound and what sounds like it will ultimately harm your efforts to lose weight. There are three main diets that could be list amongst those “other diet types” that have gained notoriety. Read on for a summary of each one: 1. The blood type diet – This diet depends on what blood type you are. The basis of this one is that you may be eating the wrong foods for your blood type. So, if you have Type O blood, you should eat a diet rich in fat and protein while Type B blood owners should balanced diet more along the lines of the food pyramid. Most of this sounds hokey, but some people have followed the blood type diet and swear that they have lost weight. Research more into your specific blood type and see what that diet holds. 2. The personality type diet – Your demeanor and your personality dictates the foods you eat. Some experts argue that you should concentrate on your unique lifestyle and personality to guide you to the proper diet. Sometimes quirks that make us who we are can be instrumental in bad diet choices. Your moods and behaviors likewise can be the basis for the diet you choose. There is a lot more involved with the personality type diet, but you get the basic concept. Does our personality dictate the type of diet we should eat? Who knows? That is for you to decide. 3. The body shape diet - Some weight loss experts claim that your natural body shape should dictate how you eat. There is the pear shaped body and the apple shaped body. There is the Hollywood type hourglass frame as well as the ruler straight shape. The reasoning behind it is that some people collect fat in different places. For instance, apple shaped bodies store fat in their abdomen areas while pear shapes collect fat in the lower regions like the buttocks and thighs. By choosing a diet based on where your fat collects, is often argued to be the optimal choice. However, which foods and recipes would you choose in order to follow this method? As you can see, some of these other diet types are a bit different and the resources to full the diet requirements stated by some of these diets are somewhat limited. You would do better to create your own sensible diet and exercise plan or consult with your doctor to develop a healthy eating and weight loss plan.
