Weight Watchers
What It Is Weight Watchers was developed in the 1960’s. The program emphasizes long term weight management by focusing on mental, physical, and emotional health. Weight Watchers does not dictate what clients can and cannot eat; rather it provides information to its dieters about making healthier food choices and getting regular exercise. As a Weight Watcher client you can go to of their many centers for support or join Weight Watchers online. On their website members will find a Weight Watchers calculator, information on the Weight Watcher points system, and free online Weight Watchers recipes. This is the easiest way to get a free list of Weight Watchers points and Weight watchers points meals. What You Can Eat Weight Watchers offers two types of programs. The first uses Weight Watchers food points and the other does not. With the Weight Watchers points system each type of food is assigned a point value to help you keep track of your caloric intake. Neither of the programs will dictate what foods you should eat, nor will they forbid clients from eating certain types of food. How It Works The Flex Plan is the program that utilizes the Weight watchers point list. Each food is assigned a point value based on the foods total fat, dietary fiber, and calorie content. Each member is given a daily target point range based on their body weight. The goal is to track the food you eat and try to fall within your point range The Core Plan does away with the point system altogether. Instead it encourages members to select their foods from a core list of wholesome foods without having to count or track their meals. Weight Watchers also encourages its members to get regular physical activity. They emphasize that watching what you eat is not enough. To be healthy you should also get regular exercise. The Weight Watchers program also teaches its clients to become accountable for the decisions they make. It teaches them the different types of hunger and how to monitor themselves. Weight Watchers encourages all of its members to keep a journal to help them reach their weight loss goals.
